Recipe
Earlier, our moms used to bake "Nuts" on a gas stove in a special cast iron nut cooker, but now the wonders of progress gave us a new appliance for making my favorite yummies. But the main secret of success is the properly made dough..
To make "Nuts" you will need the following ingredients:
400 g flour, 3 eggs, 100 g sugar, 250 g margarine, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar, two packages of caramelized milk.
Separate the whites from the yolks. Put the whites in the fridge to cool down and put the yolks in a deep bowl.
Gradually pour the sugar in the yolks and beat it up with a mixer until smooth. To get a good flavor, you can add a small package of vanilla sugar.
Melt the margarine.
Pour the flour into a dry bowl and add the melted margarine.
Knead stiff dough.
Add the mixture of yolk and sugar to the dough, knead everything up properly again until smooth.
Add salt to the whites. Slack a teaspoon of baking soda with lemon juice or vinegar and add to the whites.
Whip the whites up with mixer until slight foam appears.
Add the whites to the dough.
Knead the dough up properly. It should be thick but not sticky or crumbly.
Break the dough into equal pieces; you will have to choose their size depending on the size of the nut cooker. Heat the nut cooker up to the operating temperature and place the pieces of dough in it.
For the baking time of the nut halves see the instructions. Take the well-cooked halves from the nut cooker, let them cool down, put the caramelized milk into the nut halves and join together.
The nuts are ready. Repeat this procedure until all nuts are made. Put the finished biscuits in a cool place for the filling to thicken.
